Our Story

Built by a dad who needed it

FamDisplay started as a side project to help my own family of six get organized. Now it helps families everywhere.

Hi, I’m Tim. I’m a dad of four kids, and like a lot of parents, I was drowning in schedules.

Between school drop-offs, soccer practice, piano lessons, dance rehearsals, doctors appointments, and everything else that comes with a house full of kids — we were constantly missing things. My wife and I had calendars on our phones, but the kids never knew what was coming. We’d yell reminders up the stairs. Leave sticky notes on the fridge. Text each other frantically from the car.

I kept thinking: there has to be a better way.

So I grabbed an old iPad, mounted it on our kitchen wall, and started building what would eventually become FamDisplay. The idea was simple: put everything the family needs to know on one screen that everyone walks past every day.

It started with just calendars. But then the kids wanted to see their chores. So I added to-do lists. Then we needed morning routines so the kids could get ready without being told every single step. Then we added rewards — because turns out, kids will do anything when points are involved.

Before I knew it, our kitchen iPad had become the family command center. The kids would walk downstairs, glance at the screen, and know exactly what their day looked like. My wife and I stopped repeating ourselves. Mornings got calmer. Evenings got smoother.

I started sharing it with friends, and they wanted it too. So I turned it into FamDisplay — a product that any family can set up on any tablet in about two minutes.

What we believe

Families shouldn't need five apps

Calendars in one app, to-dos in another, chore charts on the fridge. We bring it all together in one place the whole family can see.

If it's not visible, it doesn't exist

A calendar buried in your phone isn't useful to a 7-year-old. A screen on the wall that shows today's plan? That changes everything.

Routines build independence

When kids can see what they need to do — brush teeth, pack lunch, do homework — they start doing it on their own. Less nagging, more calm.

A little motivation goes a long way

Points and rewards aren't bribery — they're positive reinforcement. Our kids are more motivated than ever to help around the house.
